Yes, the fee went from £1500/year right up to £9000. Watchmaking is not a high paying industry, unless you work for yourself and know how to run a business. So financially it is not the best investment in the short term, but to be good at watchmaking you have to also have the passion for your work; so that is some form of compensation.

Graduating salaries can be anywhere from £18k up to £30k depending on where you work. A senior Watchmaker at the top of their career could aim for £40-60k.
